Lake Somerville.

Tommy and Dade went camping earlier this month. As you can see, Dade was very excited! While I was packing food for them, Dade told me that I didn't need to pack anything because they were "going to go fishing and catch some fish to eat." After setting up the tent, Dade went exploring around the lake all by himself! They made s'mores, went for a walk at night with their flashlights, read books, attempted to catch some fish, and ate a big breakfast Sunday morning in Somerville.

A while back the boys started saying "Mr. Banana-pants."
Tommy made one with Dade's snack!

Taking a picture of himself.

Dade took lots of pictures while he was exploring -- some rocks he found

and a variety of coke cans.

He followed this red bird for a while around the campsite --
it's on top of the truck in this picture.

Blackburn Family Camping Trip.

We met my parents and brother in Bastrop for a family camping trip -- my sister and her family couldn't join us this time. It was hot but not unbearable. The kids were able to take a nap in the camper (the a.c. was on 65!) and we went to the pool Saturday afternoon to help us all cool off.

Discovering pine straw.

Dade in the tree. As a side note, something I love about Dade... he only wants to wear "long-sleeve socks" that come up high. He will wear the low-cut version as a last resort but will choose his black Sunday dress socks (and has!) to wear with his tennis shoes if white ones are not clean.
Can you find him now?

The boys had a lot of fun climbing up to the cliff behind our campsite.
Big Daddy at the grill -- sausage, filet mignon, roasted corn and baked potatoes,
not your everyday camping fare. The boys learned how to use tent stakes to make the potatoes cook faster and loved helping shuck the corn.Gran, Big Daddy, Audrey and Tommy relaxing before dinner.Dade and Luke enjoyed spending time with Uncle Andy.It should be against the law to go camping and not eat S'mores! Luke said he was "stuffed" of dinner yet made room for three desserts! Look at those tired eyes!Playing Old Maid.Luke passed out by the front door Sunday afternoon when we got home. More sweets to finish off the weekend.

Firsts.

Dade and Luke had their season opener yesterday. They took pictures beforehand.

For Luke's first "Luke Day" he chose to go camping with Tommy. They left after the ball game yesterday.

Ready to go.

Notice his canteen.

He caught two catfish.

A BIG breakfast!

Have you noticed that Luke is eating

in most of these pictures?!
