No phone home. *UPDATED*

*Tommy found the phone in the playstructure yesterday -- it was, of course, water logged from all the rain. The boys both deny leaving it there and it is possible that Audrey climbed up there with it. We did get a new phone today so you can reach us here once again.*

Our home phone has somehow disappeared... if you need to reach us in the next day or so, try us on our cell.

Pumpkin patch.

We made our annual pumpkin patch trip after church on Sunday (in time to be home for the Cowboys). This year we went to HALTER.

Luke found the perfect pumpkin!

Audrey woke up in time to see some animals
and take a walk in the pumpkin patch.

Nana & PaPa visit.

Tommy's parents came to visit us this past weekend (she got lots of great pictures that she put on her blog.) If you're in denial about how many shopping days left until Christmas, avoid the counter on the right side of her page!

We spent Friday evening outside while three ladies (kindly hired by my husband to keep me sane!) scrubbed my house from top to bottom -- what a treat! My nesting urges have somewhat subsided for now. Dade and Luke helped PaPa inspect his "new" car and rode bikes with the neighborhood kids. After the boys' soccer game Saturday morning, we enjoyed the beautiful weather and ate outside at Clay's. Audrey and the boys fed the horses, mule and rooster. For some reason, Audrey would laugh really hard when she touched the rooster. And she was none to happy that the inflatable bouncer was off limits to her since we were not part of the party taking place that day. Donna babysat for us Saturday evening so that Tommy and I could go to a friend's birthday/costume party. This was the best "costume" we could muster... yes, we are Cowboys fans. Very inventive. We had a great time laughing at those who went all out -- Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter, the Hulk, and a homeless couple.

Finally Fall!

We celebrated the arrival of cooler weather by making caramel apples today.

Dade with the candy corn he prepared.Luke crushed M&Ms for us.
Caramel on...

The final touches...
Luke's second favorite part...
He really did say he had more fun eating them than making them!
And ENJOY!
Audrey was napping while we made them but they did save some to share with her.

Little Lady.

Riding the horse with Dade at Texas Roadhouse. My friend, Heather braided her hair.

Such a happy girl!

One last stop.

We ended our vacation visiting Tommy's parents and grandparents.

The boys got to check out the equipment at C&E on Saturday; I am working on getting the pictures posted to our blog.

Meet Me In St. Louis.

Tommy and I went to the TUTS production of Meet Me in St. Louis last night... we had a great time! Dade took some pictures for us before we left.

Polar Bears.

Dade picked a science experiment out of a book for us to try this past Tuesday. They learned that polar bears can survive swimming in the Arctic because their fur is coated with oil. I put oil on their hands then they ran water over them to watch the water bead up.
They each drew a picture of what happened. Here is Dade drawing the spots of water...
and Luke drawing a sad face because he "didn't like the way it felt" on his hand.

Pink or Blue?

My 21 week anatomy scan was yesterday and (much to the disappointment of some) we did not find out if we will be bringing home more "frogs and snails" or "sugar and spice." The boys went with us and were really excited to see the baby moving around sucking it's thumb. Dade was good at pointing out the bones.

We are working on narrowing down names, and I have already found a little girl outfit to take to the hospital.
I have been feeling the baby for about a month now and Tommy has been able to feel it kicking this past week. The baby weighs 13 ounces (I was hoping she was going to say 13 pounds so I could give the baby credit for some of the weight I've gained!) and is growing perfectly.

Odds and ends.

This is the outfit Audrey picked out and brought to me to put on her this morning -- a too small swimsuit, swim diaper over that and Luke's boots. Yesterday for show and tell, Dade had to bring a something found in the ocean. He decided to print a picture and talk about the blue crab. During class they read Dr. Seuss' McElligot's Pool then made a fish. Here is his crab paper with the three facts he told his class and the "propeller fish" and waves he made.

The fish he replicated in the book...
