The mom I want to be...
His mother was not home, but the young boy wanted to draw, so he got out the bottles of ink and enlisted his sister as a model. The young artist made an inky mess of his hands, clothes, table and floor. Just as he was finishing his work, his mother returned. For a moment, she stood in the door and silently took in the scene. Then, instead of scolding him, she picked up the portrait and declared, "What a beautiful picture of your sister!" and kissed him. Later in life, the great artist Benjamin West recounted, "With that kiss, I became a painter."

Heaven... and other great places to live.
Did you know that if you are a believer, you will NOT live in Heaven for all of Eternity?! We are going through a wonderful series on Sundays studying where we will live. To watch the previous messages - your life after death, your life in great places, and your life in Heaven, click here... then come back next week to learn about your life in the sky-tent!
For the hard days of motherhood...
Eccl 4:18 Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage. 19 As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God. 20 For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.
Motherhood IS HARD WORK. It is REPETITIVE and often times menial. ACCEPT IT. REJOICE IN IT!!! THIS IS OUR TOIL! Right here... those are their faces. ENJOY them! The days of our lives are supposed to be full of things like this. Buy joy is not giddy. It is not an emotional rush - it is what happens when we accept our lot and rejoice in our toil. So... rejoice in your children. Look them in the eyes and GIVE THANKS! You will not even remember the work of all this planting when the harvest of joy overwhelms you! -- Rachel Jankovic, Loving the Little Years

Seeds
Every thought is a seed. If you plant crabapples don't count on harvesting Golden Delicious. -author unknown

Truths I am being reminded of...
Matt 10:8 Freely you have received, freely give. The Greek word for GRACE is charis which the English word charity is derived from. A focus on scarcity results in stinginess while a focus on abundance results in generosity. If I focus on the resources of God, I realize I have an abundance to give. If I focus on what I should be getting from others, I become reluctant to give. {Conversation Peace, Mary Kassain}

Homemade.
"Homes have been under attack for so long that we have a hard time even imagining how powerful they can be. We think of a “homemaker” as a woman cross stitching something to hang over the potpourri. We imagine domestic arts as something that is limited to people who didn't pursue a real education. We might feel sheepish telling someone that we “just” stay at home. But that is nothing to be embarrassed about; our work at home means that God's word may not be reviled (Titus 2:5)."
"Homes are tremendously powerful places, because they are where people come from. There is no more important thing that you could be doing. You do not go home to hide from the world, you go home to change it." -- Rachel Jankovic
