so we'll remember...

This is Audrey's dinner plate and her pink flosser. She DESPISES anything being stuck between her teeth so much that she will often go get a flosser during dinner, use it right then and leave it next to her plate.

Twenty 3.

When it's time to go to sleep, she wants a "blinkie" (blanket) and a baby
then wants to "rock, rock." Here she is in the middle of putting "stick" on with her finger
and watching Luke work on the computer.
She picked out this dress to wear that Aunt Cindy gave her for Christmas --
she likes the hearts on it.

Audrey has started talking in two- and three-word sentences. She will repeat most words that you say to her. She can name some of her colors (green, pink, purple) and shapes (heart, star), tries to count to ten, sings the tune and some of the ABCs, and sings most of Twinkle, Twinkle on her own. Every morning she requests hot chocolate to drink. She likes to pick out her own clothes and can put her pants/shorts on by herself. Audrey loves to put on "stick" (chapstick), lotion, and Daddy's deodorant, asks for "paint" for her toes and "up" on the bathroom counter for me to fix her hair (everything that goes in her hair is a "bow"). One of the cutest things is when she says "welcome" when she really means thank you. She also sounds adorable saying more -- "marr." Audrey adores her baby; I cannot count how many times a day she says, "sweet Why-ette (Wyatt)," "a boy." She also likes to dress and undress him -- I have to be very cautious where I lay him down because she will (and has) started to move and disrobe him if I turn my head for any length of time. If Wyatt is crying she will sometimes say, "I know, I know" and will shush in his ear. She enjoys watching "show" with her brothers and says "Babar" when she sees the elephant on tv. The boys encourage her spinning in circles until she is dizzy and falls down which they all think is very comical. We are pretty much done with potty training; I occasionally put a pull up on her if I know we might not be able to get to a restroom quickly enough but she rarely has accidents anymore (and when she has in the recent past, she got a towel by herself to dry it up!). I know I'm biased but she is the cutest, sweetest little girl... I cannot believe she is about to be TWO!

Little Mommy.

Audrey loves to take care of her babies. I found her on the trundle bed feeding one of her dolls.
She put her babies in the crib and climbed in to "nap" with them.

Twenty one.

At 21 months, Audrey has a new favorite word -- "no" and an aversion -- sleep (day or night). She has also added "want that," "want more," "right there," "mine," "where go?" and "juice" to her word list. In the past week or so she has started saying "whoa" over and over again. Babies, books and baths are still her main loves. If her brothers irritate her, she does not hesitate to let them know by screaming and occasionally pinching them (this has necessitated her introduction to time-outs). She asks to sit on my bathroom counter so she can go through my make-up case and put eyeshadow on her face and now likes for me to put her hair in pigtails. We have made two trips out of the house without a diaper and have made it back home with dry pants!

I am anxious to see how she does once the baby arrives... though she is perfectly content roaming the house and entertaining herself, she also still wants to be held or in my lap when she is tired or upset. Now that the pack-n-play is set up, she has taken some diapers from the organizer and practiced putting them on her Madame Alexander doll. There is no doubt she will be a big helper and a fabulous big sister!

20 months.

Two of her favorite things -- the phone
and bubbles. She says and signs "bubbles."
Audrey has been sleeping on the daybed/trundle for about a month now. When she wakes up she knocks on the door for someone to come open it and wants to go immediately to the kitchen for some milk. She only naps once a day usually for just an hour. Audrey loves taking baths and has been known to take four in one day; she has climbed in with the boys with her clothes on on several occasions. When the boys are working on their schoolwork, she will get a workbook or coloring book, a pen/crayon/pencil and "work" in it. She has added toes, eye, that, this, hot, cold, bath, diaper, hat, cat, dog, baby, "bay-bay" (for band aid) and bee to her list of words. She hums a little song that sounds just like Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, and she makes the cutest faces!
