Air.

By Luke. With crayons and paint. An idea all his own. Notice that the middle balloon looks a like mint chocolate chip ice cream cone.

Just right!

This little pool has worked perfectly for us! Easy set up and take down, fills quickly, just the right size for Audrey girl & W to play in on the porch while the big boys fish with Dad!

Country Boys

Off to fish.

The boys decided this morning that they wanted to go fishing... I cannot even remember the last time they went! Tommy helped them get their gear ready and off they went. A while later, Luke came running up to the house to let me know that Dade's cowboy hat had fallen in the pond! It was already so far out that someone had to jump in to retrieve it -- Luke quickly offered his swimming services! With hat on head, Dade soon caught a catfish! (I'll post those pics soon!) After releasing it back into the water, Dade, Luke and Audrey decided they wanted to swim. Gran and Big Daddy stopped to check out the action and just after they left, the kids wanted me to jump in with them! I don't think I've been in that pond since High School -- the catfish nibbled on me a few times when I was swimming and I just could not bring myself to get back in! BUT... duty called and in I went! It was so much fun! I am certain there will be more swim days ahead!

Willy Wonka.

Tommy and I left the little ones at home and took the big boys to see the childrens' production of W.W. and the Chocolate Factory. It was so much fun! Our friends' daughter was in it and did a wonderful job!

Big brother is really good at getting W to sleep!

A good excuse to play in the toilet.

Dauphin Island with the Dodds

Our Houston friends make an annual trip to Dauphin Island, just outside Mobile, Alabama. They happened to still be there when we passed through on our drive home, and they invited us to stay the night. The kids played on the beach Monday night then were in the water until lunch time Tuesday morning. They all took a great nap in the car when we left!

Caught!

Dade and Luke stayed up late Monday night catching crabs on the beach with Ashton and Avery. It is hard to tell from the picture but they caught a lot of them! Dade caught two big ones at the same time!

USS Drum submarine.

USS Alabama

The Mighty Mississip.

We left Tuesday morning for a family vacation! Tuesday evening we stopped  in Mobile to tour the USS Alabama --  we had a great time exploring the battleship and submarine. We stayed about an hour and a half and there were only a few other people there the entire time! We continued our drive and stayed the night in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Wednesday morning we completed our drive to Tampa where Tommy's sister and her family live. Thursday included a trip to the aquarium. Friday we drove to Clearwater beach. Saturday morning we got the kids dressed for Benjamin's 4th birthday art party at the children's museum. Tommy and I got on the road and drove to Key West for his college friend George's wedding. We drove through the Everglades -- we will definitely plan to go back there with the boys for an airboat ride! We made it to Key West just in time to check in our hotel, change and walk to the resort for the wedding. The wedding was on the beach followed by an indoor reception.  Tommy and I walked along the shore and relaxed in a hammock while we were there. We really enjoyed getting to visit with several of his college friends. Sunday morning we journeyed back to Tampa. Monday we loaded up and drove to Mobile and stayed the night in Dauphin Island with Houston friends. Tuesday we had beach time then headed West for home. We got in a little after 11 that night. Thankfully even after being in the car so long we are all still sane (I think!).  (More pictures to come -- I left my camera battery and charger at the hotel in Key West and it is being mailed to me.)

A car boy.

Super Duper Sports Camp.

The boys were invited to attend a sports camp at a local church. Several of their homeschool and baseball/football friends were there. They were only able to go the first two nights since we left Tuesday for Florida but they had a great time! Area coaches rotated them through their choice of sports -- Sunday night they both chose football and soccer, Monday they chose baseball and cross country. They were sad to miss mud night so we will make sure they get to go again next year!
