Tommy bought me a new gun and we took our concealed handgun class together last weekend. The men in the class were laughing thinking about someone in prison having to say they were shot with a pink gun!

Tommy took Dade to the mountains -- they stayed in a cabin, floated down the Ouachita River, and swam at Little Missouri Falls.

Luke LOVES baseball! He tried out for a fall ball team Tuesday night and was invited to play with them. Now we have to make a decision as to which team he will play on. He wants to play all the time... I can't imagine where he gets it from! Last night, he put on the cather's gear and I threw the ball with him.

He got two kinds of ice cream... he's recuperating!

Dade and Luke got their expanders placed Wednesday morning. Luke has been having a hard time -- he "can't spit, can't swallow, can't talk, and can't eat." He has been having lots of ice cream, shakes, smoothies and soup. He was finally able to eat two helpings of spaghetti last night; he tried a muffin this morning but couldn't swallow it. I found him a new "mason jar" with a lid and straw that he said he thought he could "drink a milkshake out of."

Leaf bug.

The boys discovered a leaf bug outside at Chick Fil A. It flew onto Luke's shoulder, Dade took some pictures, then it bit Luke on the finger!

Bobbing for apples.

The boys were playing in the backyard with an old wash tub. We saw them sitting in the tub and shortly after, they asked for some apples.

Because one day I'll miss the mess...

Adrian rotated through the stations during the two-hour camp. He threw two passes to Luke, shook his hand and patted him on the head. Luke says, "don't shake his hand... he has a good grip!"

I thought this would be a good idea for Audrey and Wyatt to be able to pour their own milk. Audrey LOVES it! Wyatt likes to just drink straight out of it... that must be ingrained in the male DNA.

Our school books for the coming year came with an origami book. Dade has made 17 of the 32 projects already! This is a flower he made for me!

Paper airplanes.

Dade is on a paper airplane-making kick. For some reason, they had a stash of Monopoly money in the van and have made NUMEROUS planes with it. Dade threw one from the back of the van the other day and it landed perfectly in the little slot where the air bag is! He also made me one that turns into a heart when you open it!

Bakers.

Two of my helpers were awake to bake blueberry muffin bread with me the other morning. It was delicious!

Luke: I like my steaks quarter-rare, not medium.

The kids have played with this tub of dried pantry items for hours over the past week. The neighbors come over and ask to "play with the beans!"
