All three boys played Dixie League baseball this spring. Tommy coached Wyatt in t-ball, Luke pitched and played short stop for a 9/10 yr old team, Dade pitched just about every game this season for his 11/12 yr old team {remember, he took a year off from baseball last year!}. Several nights we had all three playing at the same time! Thankfully, all the games were at the same park. Dade and Luke were both nominated for All-Stars - Dade was the only one on his team nominated. Luke played for a few more weeks at 3rd base for his All-Star team.
We put our house on the market, moved back into a camper on my parents' land and are still waiting for timber to be thinned and cleared on our new property so we can move forward with our transition out there. Some of our renters moved out early so we gladly took their place in our 2 bedroom / 1 bath house. We love it! God knew we needed a few months in the camper to appreciate 1200 sq ft! Now we just keep waiting for an offer on Meadowview!
The Spring Parade of Homes went well - we already have a new job to bid from a couple who came to our homes. We got a contract on the spec home in Deer Valley and are set to close August 4! We're at painting stage on the next spec. God sent LOTS of prospects to us last month so Tommy has been diligently cranking out the bids!
My Dad had a heart attack the morning of May 3. They placed two stents during that hospitalization and two more this month. He's doing just fine but ready to get some energy back. My grandmother had to be hospitalized again for atrial fibrillation. They got her stable enough to transfer her to rehab this week.
On July 4th we were invited to the Hurta's for an early dinner and lawn games then we drove to Jefferson for the ultimate small-town experience... the roads were blocked off, a band played patriotic music, chairs were set up all around the square and in the street. They had booths with face painting, tug-o-war and sack races for the kids. They opened the fire hydrant to propel rubber ducks down the road and had fireworks at dark. When that was over we went back to the Hurta's for our own fireworks show. {The Hurtas have six kids so everyone has a friend when we're together! }
This summer: the boys had FAST camp (form, agility, speed training) and baseball camp, then basketball camp. The next week Dade had Lego robotics camp at LeTourneau University. All four had swimming/jr. lifeguard lessons the next week. I was able to arrange for a young lady to come teach Audrey art lessons once a week so that started Tuesday. She LOVED it and said she "never wanted art class to end but she [Miss Madison] said she had to go."
